This privacy policy for PowerPlay LLC("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we collect, store, use, and share your information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you visit our website at powerplay.hockey, create an account, or engage with us at tournament registration events. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us at support@powerplay.hockey.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you create an account, register at a tournament, or contact us. The information we collect may include:
Payment and subscription information is collected and managed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
We receive game performance data from third-party analytics providers under organizational subscription agreements. This data is used to generate personalized coaching reports.
We automatically collect standard web analytics data such as browser type, device information, pages visited, and referring URLs.
We use the information we collect to:
By enrolling in a PowerPlay membership, the Member (or parent/legal guardian on behalf of a minor player) grants PowerPlay permission to use the player's name, likeness, image, and submitted game footage on PowerPlay's social media channels and website for promotional and community purposes.
This consent may be withdrawn at any time by submitting a written request to support@powerplay.hockey. Full terms covering media, content, and intellectual property are set out in the Member User Agreement.
By enrolling in a PowerPlay membership, the Member (or parent/legal guardian) consents to receive transactional emails and SMS messages related to their membership. SMS notifications are part of the standard PowerPlay membership experience and are used to deliver account, billing, and content-readiness updates.
PowerPlay sends two distinct kinds of SMS, from two different phone numbers. Each number is registered separately with the U.S. mobile carriers under the rules that govern business text messaging. Both kinds are transactional or service-related; we do not send marketing or promotional SMS.
System notifications are sent automatically from PowerPlay's system phone number — the number we use for account, billing, and content-readiness texts — and include:
Conversational follow-up from Coach Kevin and the PowerPlay sales team is sent from a separate phone number, used for one-to-one text conversations, and includes:
Members are enrolled in system notifications (account, billing, content readiness) as part of paid signup at powerplay.hockey/checkout. By checking the agreement box at checkout and completing enrollment, Members consent to receive these transactional SMS messages from PowerPlay's system phone number.
Conversational follow-up from the PowerPlay sales team remains optional. To opt in to one-to-one text conversations with the sales team, check the SMS opt-in checkbox on the inquiry form at powerplay.hockey/try. This is separate from the membership SMS notifications described above and is not required to submit an inquiry.
Message frequency varies based on your account activity and the stage of your inquiry. Typical volume is fewer than 5 messages per month.
You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS will be sent.
Reply HELP to any message for support information, or contact us at support@powerplay.hockey.
Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your plan.
We do not share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
We use third-party services to operate the platform, including providers for hosting, database and authentication, payment processing, SMS delivery, and email. These services may have access to personal information only as needed to perform their functions and are obligated not to use it for any other purpose.
PowerPlay does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. We use a limited set of service providers — including payment processing (Stripe), hosting, database and authentication, SMS delivery, and email — to operate the platform. These providers may access your personal information only as needed to perform their function on our behalf and are contractually obligated not to use it for any other purpose.
PowerPlay serves hockey players aged 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.
Parent and guardian accounts are available as part of the account setup process. We do not sell personal information of any user, including minors, to third parties.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us at support@powerplay.hockey.
Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed from our active systems. Note that Stripe retains transaction records in accordance with their own data retention policy and applicable financial regulations.
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under applicable privacy laws (such as the CCPA for California residents or the CPA for Colorado residents). These may include the right to:
